North Meadow Center
The proposed scope of work at the North Meadow Center is a complete gut renovation of the building and site improvements to recreational game courts. This project is a direct result from the overall organizational space planning endeavor and to facilitate the projected growth of our staff to help maintain the Park going forward. This location will become primary staff facility in the northern part of the Park and will help decentralize the 79th Street Maintenance Yard which is the current primary staff facility Park wide.
The scope of work includes entire replanning of the interior to accommodate operations staff on either wing with new accessible public restrooms being relocated to the central public spine between game courts to front and back of building, all new MEP systems, building envelope masonry restoration, new windows and doors, and select roofing repairs.
To support the staff, flanking both ‘wings’ are charging stations for low-emission electric golf carts and equipment storage containers, necessities in caring for the Park. The adjacency of the carts to staff is critical to efficient staff operations and will reduce traffic on pedestrians paths as carts are currently picked up from staff at 79th Street.
